I think you know just how I'm feeling

Dear reader, these are four up and coming songs I've been into this past fortnight. I think these artists still haven't reached their peak in appreciation/popularity. Using what little power I have... I encourage you to look out for these artists. These fellows deserve your undivided attention.

Sharing a hometown with the legendary Soulwax is a definite plus and obvious influence on these lads. Officially, Ghent is the best city in Belgium.

Waxdolls "Favorite Girl" [Mediafire]

This is a pop song is full of love. They sound like they belong to the Swedish School of Accessible Indie Pop, but they're actually from Florida.

Horse Shoes "Changing Winds" [Mediafire]

What is it about bands with "wolf" in the name? This track is catchy as hell ...and dare I say beautiful?

Wolf Gang "Pieces of You" [Mediafire]

From his latest batch of remixes, PT2K takes this brilliant 80s classic and makes it dreamy, slow and sentimental. Big sigh.

The Psychedelic Furs "Love My Way (Party Time 2000 Trouble Dub) [Mediafire]

[MONTREAL] It's time to make the most of what little time we have left of the summer. Since we have to hit the books next week -- now is the time to turn off your computer and get outside.

Here's a summer summary, or, my top five tracks of Summer 2009, 'cause I can only speak for myself.

1. The Drums "Let's Go Surfing" [Mediafire]

2. Spoon "Got Nuffin" [Mediafire]

3. Grizzly Bear "Two Weeks" [Mediafire]

4. Phoenix "Lisztomania (Yuksek Remix)" [Mediafire]

5. Calvin Harris "Ready for the Weekend" [Mediafire]

It's been a hell of a summer.

Five AM, Out Again

It's time to bring back some of the Fucking Best Remixes Ever. Part V of our infinite part series is actually from this year. To be clear, Fever Ray's third single "Triangle Walks" is an amazing song on its own. Naturally, it generated its fair share of remixes, and the work of Rex the Dog rose above the rest. He speeds it up and brings out the synths in a big way. This is no fleeting affair, I genuinely cannot get enough of this track. Hence, it's deserved place as one of the Fucking Best Remixes Ever.

Fever Ray "Triangle Walks (Rex the Dog 12" Mix)" [Mediafire]

Don't forget to see these artists on tour. Fever Ray's bound for North America starting late next month. And if you're lucky enough to be there, Rex the Dog is playing in Spain this fall.

Been there, done that, messed around

Congratulations, La Roux. You are the latest addition to an exclusive list of artists alongside Feist, Lykke Li, Annie, Little Boots, and Dragonette. You are officially an artist I don't particularly care for but by golly I really enjoy your material remixed. How can I refuse the Fred Falke treatment?

Too many legs under the table

[TORONTO] Another club weekly is opening tonight and it's called "Timebomb Tuesdays." What's the deal? Modelled after Cinespace L.A.'s Dim Mak Tuesdays, Timebomb promises to deliver the latest goods in the ever so popular genres of electro, indie, and house. I didn't know people still cared about Steve Aoki, let alone tried to emulate his label's weekly jam.

Nevertheless, it should be heaps of fun. The Timebomb is setting off with a DJ set from Does It Offend You, Yeah?. Yeah!

See you at Tattoo.

Plus Friendly Fires will have a DJ set at The Social after the show. It's good to be back. Probably their most popular songs:
