Seriously, what's the deal with MSTRKRFT? Of course they've been around for aeons (in blog years) and everyone from my grandmother to the postman know who they are. Basically, the whole world embraced the famed Moss Park electro-duo after The Looks.
Remember the first time you heard "Easy Love"? Those were the days. The first time I Iistened to "Vuvuvu" and "Bounce" on the other hand, were a bit... disappointing. On the bright side, when MSTRKRFT put on a show shortly after their latest releases, I was pretty impressed with all the bros in the audience. I've never seen such a popped-collared, beer-guzzling, fist-pumping crowd in my life. Except maybe at a Girl Talk or Justice show.
More recently, the extreme young and old are known to attend a MSTRKRFT show. Remember what happened in Los Angeles?
Going to a MSTRKRFT show means taking in everything, both good and bad. The good is seeing pretentious hipster d-bags in disbelief that a jolly legion of fratboys know the single lyric to "Work on You." The bad is MSTRKRFT's new material. And the infants.
In conclusion, JFK and Al-P are on tour; check the dates here. It's a hell of a lot of tour they've got going on.

yeahh i saw them a few weeks ago.... it was well worth it despite the mixed crowd!
this post is everything hipster runoff makes fun of. if you're going to bother being responsible for one of the internet's 96 billion pointless music blogs, why not try making some interesting/worthwhile observations outside of how mainstream mstrkrft has become.
oh nooo they're too famous for me to listen to them anymoreee...
bahahaha what a cliqued blog. want to try any harder?
Help me out here. Are you trying to say that you're welcoming the frat guys, or that they're a reason not to go to a MSTRKRFT show? And further, why are hipsters d-bags because of the mere fact that they're hipsters, when clearly you enjoy the bro's for their popped collars?
You, my friend, are a confusing (and likely confused) fellow.
Oh no! MSTRKRFT's new material is sooooo terrible just cause people know about them!!!1one!
What's the actual point of this?
This blog should take a fucking beating...
You lose douchebag!
when is this minimix from?
pretentious hipster d-bags in disbelief that a jolly legion of fratboys know the single lyric to "Work on You."
...funny its the same thing youre doing and youre either A. oblivious to it or B. another hipster who just learned that the word pretentious describes the subculture almost perfectly(the culture part is used loosely)
I saw MSTRKRFT play last sunday in toronto and 20 minutes into their set a slew of hot bitches hopped on the stage and danced their asses off, so i don't know what you're talking about homie.
Booo, mainstream!!! This is the oldest rant in music history.. an old, lame, tiring rant. I'm guessing you boycott MTV and have their channel blocked on your TV Box too?
Seeing a diverse crowd at a MSTRKRFT show makes my day. It's about the music man, not the image, not the person and certainly not a specific crowd of people. It's about the fun and it sounds like you're having anything but.
Yes, MSTRKRFT is for everybody, if you want it you can have it!
Music to the people!
MSTRKRFT rules!
This post is so lame I don't even know what to write. I agree with the guy up there - this blog is everything that people make fun of clique blogs for. Fuck this.
this is what happens with every group that becomes popular. you like jay z? you know how many fucking morons know every jay z lyric? is that gonna stop you from listening to him? hes made some wack records lately and we all still love him. whats the problem? ever notice that mstrkrft have never given a single track to any blog? maybe they never wanted cared what hipsters thought anyway? the term hipster just means current subculture. this means its going to change and move on. why would anyone pander to such a temporary group of people? we all bang our heads when sebastian plays his killing in the name remix but like, rage has the biggest bro following on the planet.
please cry and blog about american apparel more, ill miss your dogmatic rants when you move onto another scene because house is "too mainstream" or "not relevant to 2008", whatever will the people who are actually in it for the music and not just the fashion statement do? what will happen to the people who have loved house music since they were like 10, will you just abandon us poor "mainstreamers" because youre too busy trying to fit in with a clique that trys so hard not to fit in?
PS: i love your justice entries, not enough blogs post about them, theyre totally alt you know.
kthxdie
Despite the criticism you've received above, I tend to agree with your comments. However, it's not the fact that MSTRKRFT are now known to everyone that enjoys dance music, rather, its that their style has changed quite considerably. I remember that, once upon a time, MSTRKRFT made electronic music with a distinctive "disco" element and this is what attracted me to them. Now, it seems they have decided to ride the recent wave of success that has followed those acts which use gritty, distorted synths, i.e Justice. Personally, to restore my faith, I hope they produce more disco oriented tracks, rather than tracks incorporating the same old sounding synths that everyone else uses.
haha MSTRKRFT faggots sounding off in these comments.
Go back to sucking JFKs dick.
